The dried unripe raspberry fruit, a prominent, slightly warming. Chinese herb (Rubus chingii) is considered beneficial to the kidneys through its astringent action. It controls unnecessary and frequent urination like ripe raspberry, but more effectively; it also astringes the essence and thereby treats impotence, involuntary seminal emission, spermatorrhea, and premature ejaculation.
It improves visual perception and thus is used for blurred vision. Ripe raspberry also seems to benefit vision. In animal experiments, the unripe raspberry has estrogen-like effects on the female sex organs; quite probably the ripe raspberry and its leaf have these same effects.
